Fiber-Span has been awarded the contract for the 800 MHz Trunked Radio In-Building Coverage expansion project at John F. Kennedy International Airport located in New York City. Fiber-Span, RF-on- Fiber® experts for over 15 years, is the world leading manufacturer of RF on Fiber communications network products for in-building, in-tunnel, and outdoor coverage extension systems.

The JFK In-building coverage expansion project is a fiber-fed solution and will provide additional coverage to five terminals within the JFK airport campus. Hal Halpern, Fiber-Span's CEO asserts that “Fiber-Span’s channelized bi-directional amplifiers (BDAs) will complement and enhance the existing coverage while transparently interfacing with the existing 800 MHz MA/Com EDACS radio system at JFK”. Fiber-Span’s proposal utilizes a Network Monitoring System (NMS) to monitor and report equipment status from the multiple remote locations.

Fiber-Span is confident that the proposed In-Building Coverage expansion will provide a high level of wireless communications throughout the five terminals and again demonstrate the strength of the Fiber-Span Solution.
